Therapy for Orthodox Jewish Adults

Compassionate, Psychologically Grounded Care for a Wide Range of Emotional and Relationship Concerns.

Finding the right therapist can feel especially important when your life is deeply shaped by Torah, halacha, family, and community.

Many Orthodox Jewish adults want a therapist who understands the realities of Orthodox life without needing every detail explained—from shidduch dating and marriage to family expectations, modesty, yeshiva backgrounds, and the unique questions that can arise within observant communities.

Having that shared understanding often allows therapy to focus more quickly on the concerns that brought you in, rather than spending valuable time explaining the culture surrounding them.

Common Reasons People Seek Orthodox Jewish Therapy

Orthodox Jewish adults seek therapy for many different reasons, including:

While these concerns may look very different on the surface, they often involve similar questions about relationships, identity, emotional well-being, and living in a way that feels consistent with one’s values.

Working with Orthodox Jewish Adults

Many people seek therapy while preparing for marriage, navigating the shidduch process, adjusting to married life, balancing family expectations, or working through questions that arise within an observant Jewish lifestyle.

My clients come from a wide variety of Orthodox backgrounds, including Modern Orthodox, yeshivish, Chassidish, Sephardic, Syrian, Baal T’shuva and other observant Jewish communities.

Although every community has its own customs, expectations, and culture, every individual also brings a unique personality, family history, strengths, and life experiences into therapy. My goal is never to assume that two people from the same community will have the same experience. Instead, I work to understand each person’s concerns within the context of both their individual life and the community they come from.

Some clients simply want help reducing anxiety, improving relationships, or feeling more confident.

Others are navigating dating, marriage, unwanted attractions, compulsive sexual behavior, or important questions about life direction.

Still others are looking for a therapist who understands the role that Torah values, family, and community play in the decisions they are trying to make.

When appropriate and with a client’s permission, I’m also comfortable collaborating with rabbis, physicians, shadchanim, and other professionals involved in a person’s care.

My Approach

Although I work with a broad range of concerns, one theme has repeatedly stood out over more than fifteen years of clinical practice.

Over the years, I’ve found that many questions surrounding dating, relationships, compulsive sexual behavior, and sexual identity become much easier to understand when we take a closer look at some of the assumptions people naturally make about attraction and relationships.

That’s one of the reasons I created this website.

Throughout these pages you’ll find practical articles exploring common questions about dating, relationships, attraction, pornography, compulsive sexual behavior, and unwanted same-sex attraction. My hope is that these resources provide greater clarity and help people better understand experiences that often feel confusing or overwhelming.

Therapy That Respects Your Values

Every client brings a unique set of beliefs, goals, and values into therapy.

My role is not to tell people what they should believe or the direction their lives should take. Rather, my goal is to help clients better understand themselves, gain greater psychological clarity, and make thoughtful decisions that are consistent with both their values and the life they hope to build.

Taking the Next Step

Whether you’re struggling with dating, marriage, anxiety, compulsive sexual behavior, unwanted same-sex attraction, relationship concerns, or another challenge entirely, therapy can provide a place to better understand yourself, develop greater clarity, and move forward with greater confidence.
